Sophisticated Luxury Kitchen

This substantial kitchen is certainly the entertainment and family hub of the home, and I designed this space with the vision of ultimate luxury and sophistication. This workhorse kitchen is suitable for a client who lives to entertain guests, wants to make a statement, and appreciates elegant details and the best-of-the-best appointments. Balance is a dominant theme in this room, with a focal point of two large, symmetrical, marble-wrapped and paneled central islands, which anchor a series of clean, round alabaster pendant lighting fixtures suspended above them.

A stately, cove molding detail with classic paneled ends surround each of the perimeter cabinet assemblies in a soft, creamy white color, while the wood cabinetry itself has a divergent, dark and moody charcoal brown stain with a tactile, wire-brushed finish. The color of the sculptural tile on the backsplash closely matches the paint on the walls yet has enough interest to set itself apart from the rest of the walls in the kitchen. Beams set into the tray ceiling are the same material and finish as the dark cabinets and help tie everything together.

High-end appliances are integrated into cabinetry where possible with custom paneling to match and when not, they are clean and sleek in appearance as to not detract from their surroundings. The custom blackened steel range hood is streamlined and intended to make a subtle statement yet blend with flanking cabinetry for a cohesive aesthetic.

LED strip lighting is used generously throughout the kitchen, concealed in cabinetry to serve as task and ambient lighting at countertops, cabinet interiors, toe kicks, and island seating area.

This area is attached to a generous dining room (also featured in my portfolio), separated by cream-colored painted paneled walls and large, dark metal and reeded glass sliding doors, which can be left open to unite the rooms, or closed for privacy during an intimate dinner party.
